Autolycus, played by the never late and always Great Bruce Campbell, is the self-professed "King of Thieves." He was a recurring character on Hercules, The Legendary Journeys, then crosses over to the Xenaverse in the unforgettable episode "The Royal Couple of Thieves," when a Xena captures him attempting, as always, to pull off a heist. She is willing to forgive his indiscretion if he will use his talents to help her steal back a religious artifact for some friends of hers. They are successful in their attempt and Autolycus goes on his merry way. However, this is NOT the last time his majesty graces us with his presence.
You can find Autolycus in other great episodes of Xena such as Season Two's "The Quest" in which he allow's Xena's soul to inhabit his body to save her corpse before the Amazon's destroy it in a funeral pyre, Season Three's "Tsunami", "Vanishing Act," and his last episode to date: Season Four's "Takes One to Know One." This episode has the feel to it of a game of "Clue" in which Xena and other cast favorites Cyrene, Lilla, Joxer and Minya make a return to prove their innocence when Discord, the new goddess of retribution, threatens to take one of them to the underworld for the death of a bounty hunter who was at the Inn after Xena. You can pretty much guarantee that if the episode stars Autolycus, it's gonna be a wild one
