The Warning

Sarah woke up very early that morning.She hadn't gotten much sleep. She was too excited to sleep.

'I can't believe it!'Sarah thought.'I'm finally 13!'

"Mom,you awake yet?"

"Go to sleep Sarah.It's way too early to get up."

"No it isn't!"

"You heard me Sarah.Go to bed.NOW!"

"Hmph!I'm not even tiered!"Sarah mumbled.

"Sarah,you still awake?"Gabrielle asked when she was sure Xena had gone back to sleep.

"Yeah,what?"

"Happy birthday."

"Thanks Gabrielle,"Sarah said with a smile.

"It better be happy SARAH!It will be your last!HA HA HA!"an evil vioce laughed.

"What in Zeus's name was that!?!"Xena yelled.

"I-I-I don't know!"Sarah said almost crying.

"Don't worry Sarah.We're not gonna let anything-or anyone hurt you. Right Xena?"

"Right,"Xena agreed."We'd better hurry and meet Hercules."

"Let's go!"Sarah yelled."I can't wait to see Daddy!"

"Go idea,"Xena and Gabrielle said together.

"Then what're we waitin' for?Lets go!"

HALF AN HOUR LATER

"DADDY!"Sarah yelled.

"SARAH!Come over here!"Hercules yelled back.

Sarah ran up and gave her dad a big hug.It was the first time in six months she saw him.

"How old are ya now,Kid?"Iolas asked."24?25?"

Sarah giggled."I'm only 13 Iolas.Remember?I was 12 last time.That makes me 13 now."She giggled some more.

"Oh yeah!Forgot about that."

Hercules turned to Xena."I know that look Xena.What happened?"

"I'll tell you later.When we're alone."

"Mom taught me to ride Argo,"Sarah said,trying to break the silance. "She did?"Iolas asked.

"Yep!Race ya to the taveren!"Sarah challenged.

"You're on!"

"O.K.On the count of three.One-two-see ya later!"

"Cheater!Get back here!"

"I think I'll make sure no one gets hurt,"Gabrielle said.

"Well we're alone now.Tell me what happened,"Hercules said.

"It's horrible!Just horrible!,"Xena said as she told Hercules what happened earlier that day.
